Strategic Plan

Our 2004-2010 strategic plan sets out a future for workers' compensation in B.C., and defines broad strategies and actions for achieving our goals over the next six years. In an effort to turn that vision into a reality, in the immediate future WorkSafeBC will focus its efforts on the following five key strategic initiatives:

  1. Keeping the health and safety promise:
Workers and workplaces safe and secure from injury, illness, and disease
  1. Our service commitment:
Making a difference, one human being at a time
  1. Our commitment to our team:
Matching organizational capacity to customer demand
  1. Transforming societal attitudes:
Work-related death, injury, illness and disease are not an inevitable and acceptable cost of doing business
  1. Protecting the financial integrity of the system

Service Plan

Our 2010-2012 Service Plan is integrated into our 2009 Annual Report. The plan highlights the challenges and opportunities we face, and identifies the priorities for the years ahead.

WorkSafeBC priorities include:

  • Continued focus on the prevention of workplace injury, illness, and disease
  • Further reduction of the injury rate — particularly in high-risk sectors
  • Continued commitment to service, quality, and responsiveness
  • Fiscal responsibility for a sustainable workers' compensation system
  • Efficiency of the human, technological, and physical resources of WorkSafeBC

We are accountable to the public, workers, and employers.
