When an injured worker's claim is accepted, WorkSafeBC may pay for prescription drugs and medical supplies required to help them recover from their compensable injuries.
Some products must be pre-approved by a WorkSafeBC claim representative before WorkSafeBC will pay for them. Accounts for medicines, bandages, and other supplies are payable only when they are prescribed by the attending physician and medical reports to WorkSafeBC verify their necessity. Prescriptions must be dispensed by pharmacies licensed by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia or by the licensing bodies of the provinces in which the pharmacies are located.
